The 71st Annual Sessions of SLAAS was inaugurated on 30th November 2015 at the BMICH with Hon. Minister Susil Premajayantha, Minister of Science, Technology and Research as the Chief Guest amidst a distinguished gathering. The Ceremonial Inauguration was well attended by past General Presidents of SLAAS, Heads of Institutions and Universities, Recipients of SLAAS Awards and school children and their parents and teachers and media personnel.

The 71 st Annual Sessions of SLAAS was inaugurated on 30th November 2015 at the BMICH with Hon. Minister Susil Premajayantha, Minister of Science, Technology and Research as the Chief Guest amidst a distinguished gathering._A theme seminar on "Wealth Creation through Science" was held on 1st December at the Auditorium of the Ministry of Disaster Management and eminent speakers such as Mr Ravi Fernando, Hon minister Patali Champika Ranawake, Prof Suranga Nanayakkara, Prof Paula Coalavita, Mr Ranil Vitharana, Mr Rizvi Zaheed and Mr Rohan Pallewatte at the forefront in their fields shared their experiences with the participants. The Scientific sessions were held at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura from 2nd - 4th December 2015 amidst much qrandeur.
The ceremony for laying of the foundation stone of the proposed SLAAS building was held on 10th March 2016 at the site, next to SLAAS Headquarters. The long anticipated construction of the new building was initiated amidst multi religious blessings.Read more
